On the evening of Monday 2nd August, you are invited to come to the Silverstone motor racing circuit in Northamptonshire, to meet Formula 1 legend Nigel Mansell and to ride the famous circuit.
Anyone following the news from Bike Club for the last week will know that something very big is going on.
One of Bike Club’s partner organisations is UK Youth, the UK’s largest non-uniformed youth organisation. UK Youth’s president is former F1 world champion racing driver Nigel Mansell. Nigel is such a believer in UK Youth’s message of ‘Positive about Youth‘, he is undertaking an enormous challenge – to cycle 1200 miles in 13 days, visiting Bike Clubs and supporting organisations as he rides with his companions.
Towards the end of the ride, as he returns towards London, he’ll be passing through Silverstone to meet local young people and invite participants to cycle the classic circuit.
The event will be open from 4pm until 7pm.
Nigel Mansell and the peloton are expected to arrive at around 5pm.
Between 5.35pm and 7.00pm the circuit will be open for cycling!
Access to the circuit is free for under 16s and £3 for adults. It’s free for everyone to go along, meet Nigel and find out more about UK Youth and Bike Club.
Further information about the Silverstone event is on the Nigel Mansell UK Youth Cycle Challenge website.
Here’s how to get to Silverstone.

Good luck Nigel. Will this be a complete one off or might a similar event be planned at Silverstone. I can’t make this date but I would be interested in another one.
